One of Google's newest services, AppEngine, aims to compete with Microsoft's Azure and Amazon's SimpleDB. Google, not wanting to be left behind by all the hot trends, is doing a pretty good job of it. The service, currently in a beta form, only supports Python, although they hope to add more support for additional programming languages later on.
